Russia and Ukraine Hold First Peace Talks in Years

Russia and Ukraine met for the first time in years to talk about peace since the war started three years ago.

Even though diplomats from Russia, Ukraine, the U.S., the U.K., France, and Germany were involved, the talks lasted only two hours and didn’t make much progress. However, both sides agreed to one thing: each country will release 1,000 prisoners. This would be the biggest prisoner exchange since the war began.

Russia is still asking for things that sound like it wants Ukraine to give up completely. Putin chose not to be part of Russia’s team at the talks.
